The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital’s Supportive Living Facility officially welcomed its first resident the week of March 15, 2021.
Located within the Lenadco Complex behind the main Hospital, the newly constructed facility contains 19 one-bedroom suites and 1 studio suite, all located on ground level, completed with personal outdoor patios and fully furnished common areas. Rental costs range from $1,450 to $1700 per month, depending on the size and type of unit.
Resident supports within the Supportive Living facility will take a variety of forms and vary in intensity, based on the resident’s individual needs. The space is designed for seniors with complex needs who meet pre-established criteria.
“We’re currently working with the Home and Community Care to get assessments from those out in the community,” says Supportive Living Manager Hayley Kelderman. “Then we work with those seniors and bring them into the area with their families and see if this is a place they will want to stay.” Kelderman added, “We’re so lucky to be in this area with so many other facilities like doctors’ offices, pharmacies, Life Labs, physiotherapy clinics around us. And of course, the Hospital is right next door.”
